Learner Support
LEARNER SUPPORT DEPARTMENT
The Motueka High School Learner Support Department is the overall umbrella for:
• Our Supported Learning Centre for students with Special Needs
• Special Assessment Conditions for NCEA Assessments (Reader/ Writers)
• Alternative Education Unit
• Literacy and Numeracy support in mainstream classes (junior and senior)
• Our Tu Tangata ‘Volunteers in School’ programme
If you have learning concerns, referrals to the Learner Support Department can be made via the year group Dean, through senior management or by phoning the school and leaving a message for Jan Trafford (Head of Department of the Learner Support Department) on ext 210
If you wish to volunteer to be an adult in-class support person, please contact Anna Mitchell through the main office. Anna is our Tu Tangata Volunteers in School co-ordinator.
