Motueka High School

Cross country for all students from Year 9 to Year 13 is held in Term 2 with the School Championships taking place locally. The top 3 placegetters qualify to attend the Regional Tasman Secondary Schools Championships held in Nelson. If your passion is long-distance running you are able to enter the South Island and New Zealand Secondary Schools Cross Country events.

Championships:

Regional - TSS for school top 3 placegetters in all age groups

SISS - For top 2 placegetters at TSS in all age groups

NZSS - For top 2 placegetters at SISS in all age groups

Costs:

Regionals - $14.00

SISS - $180.00 (Normally Christchurch - entry fee, transport, accommodation and food)

NZSS - $250.00 (Normally North Island - entry fee, transport, accommodation and food)

Uniform - Athletes will be issued with a MHS Athletic singlet and track suit

TSS Cross Country

With over 200 secondary school athletes taking part, our runners: Josh Fitzgerald, Tegan Ewers, Leo O’Donnell, Hannah Roborgh and Harriet Arnott, ran exceptional races in perfect conditions at the Waahi Taakaro Golf Course in Nelson. Congratulations to Josh Fitzgerald our Snr Boy who took out GOLD in a well-planned race. His time was 20.20 with Josh Gill from Nelson College coming in at 20.23.
